Romanced in Paris

I asked Sean to walk down the river with me almost everyday, and we did.  We walked along it during the day and at night, and the last picture of Paris for me, is this river.

We visited two museums: Le Louvre and Le Musee D’Orsay.  The museums are very different aesthetically, but both house some of the most beautiful artwork in the world.  Some of Van Gogh’s paintings (kept in Le Musee D’Orsay) were one of my favourite pieces to see in person.  His brush strokes create such incredible movement in his paintings and the iconic pictures I so often saw in art books became so real.

The city boasts some of the most renown structures.  The view from the top of the Eiffel Tower is a beautiful one, and the ice cream truck parked below has some pretty great soft ice cream.

Wherever you walk, there are streets lined with cafes where you can snack on a smoked salmon platter with French bread, or have a romantic lunch out on a patio.  The desserts are not only decadent, but they’re all so pretty.  And who could leave Paris without enjoying some crepes along Le Champs-Elysee or taking a bite into a chewy macaron?  Sean and I passed by a sweet little bakery on our way to a park one day, and picked out the most chocolatey dessert they had.

We stayed in this quaint boutique hotel in Paris’ China Town.  We were a two-minute walk from the Metro, and a one-minute walk to a bakery where we grabbed pains au chocolat for breakfast on more than one occasion.

I love the way Parisian women dress and carry themselves.  They always look as though they’re on their way to somewhere special.  Men in suits, stop to enjoy a cup of espresso during their lunch break out on a bustling patio.  Musicians give an impromptu performance in an open square.  And me, I just enjoyed being romanced by my hubby in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
